ōpunake Quarry.
Established in 2009, our Ōpunake Quarry supplies aggregate extracted and produced from lahar andesite deposits. Lahar is the method by which the deposits came to be at the site via a debris flow composed of a slurry of pyroclastic material, rocky debris, and water. The material flowed from Mount Taranaki leaving behind large lahar mounds which can be spotted in areas west of the Mountain.
